Fluorescent micrograph of a locus cœruleus neurone imaged on a BioRad confocal microscope, at the University of Sydney. The image is produced in monochrome and the colour imposed by the image software (customised Igor Pro program). The picture shows a reconstruction of 27 optical slices of the neurone with a spectrum of colour mapped to the depth of the slice.
